Yea, brian... that seems to be what I need to do...although I find it seems to relate to having the plug in blue screen at the lower rt hand of the monitor showing... If I click this off, the start screen doesn't cause a crash. Also, using the start screen after another song is loaded doesn't result in a crash.
You might want to fill in the fault reporter so the bakers know it isn't an isolated situation and can come up with a modified clean install proceedure or add a warning to the existing proceedure or something.
Here is my last fault report: "
continuation of clean install SPlt crashing...
OK, I notice that if I cancel the plugin scan, it'll load from "start screen" without crash.
It appears that even if the plug in scan screen at right lower part of the monitor is showing, it results in a crash... as when I clicked it off canceling the scan, "start screen" loads worked. This time, I started SPlt and left the blue plug in scan screen up and even though it WASN'T scanning... just being up, saying how many plugins it found, was enough to cause this crash.
So, bottom line, I have a new workaround which is fine with me... don't have the little blue plug in screen at bottom right of monitor showing. I'm just explaining this all to you super cool bakers so you have the info if you need it."
I want to reitterate... I love the new fast load and am now going to see if adjusting the plug in scanning will eliminate the issue.
