Please help. I have recently installed a new soft synth which shows up in my plug in folder in explorer but I cannot get
Sonar to register it.
When I used utilities, Cakewalk plug in manager, the option to scan VST,S is greyed out and also in the prefs. menu, I have scan for VST,s checked at start up but still no joy even though I have the correct path selected in the scan VST folder section.
I have tried holding shift and shift/control at start up but still the same.

I s there a quick fix for this or should I be looking at a re-install?
thank you in advance John

Can I add I have just installed the cakewalk comand centre and updated z3ta+2 using it.
I am thinking it might possibly be due to using a registry cleaner not too recent though for a back up restore.
Is there a registry path I can check?

thanks John

I suppose it could be the either  the VSTScanPath entry in the registry or the actual VstScan.exe is bad or missing.

The location of VSTScanPath in 64bit X1 Producer is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64
The default location for the VstScan.exe shown in VSTScanPath is
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Utilities\VstScan.exe

That must be the problem...the VstScan file has disappeared somehow. Tried file search too now I suppose I will have to re-install.

thank you
