I have a particular project that crashes SONAR Platinum (Hopkinton) each time I try to load it.  The tracks appear; however, when it tries to load the console...CRASH.  Any ideas what may be the cause of this?  I hate to have to redo the entire project.

Try safe mode:
https://www.cakewalk.com/...help=Dialogs2.094.html

Try resetting and rescanning your plugins.

Try running Sonar as administrator (or not running Sonar as administrator).

Try a different screenset.

Try deleting your picture cache.

Please let us know. Ta.

Same here. And it just dies away without producing a crash report.

It didn't do this before Hopkington.

Funny enough, when you open Sonar again after the crash, it works OK.

As above...
Also try disabling virus scanner temporarily.
75% chance your issue is different might be best to start a new thread after above procedure.

Unless you can confirm the crash is specifically with console.

Had a similar issue a few months ago. I tracked it to a Kontakt library. I opened the project in safe mode and saved under a different name. That cleared it up for a while. I had to repeat that after working on the project for a while. Weird part is the Kontakt library worked fine in other projects.

I tried opening the project in Safe Mode.  The project now opens but only Folders were present.  No tracks.  In the  the safe mode dialog box I told it to ignore ALL plug-ins.  Maybe not the best option.  Fortunately, I enabled Auto-Save three months ago.  I was able to open that project without issues. :)

This brings up part II of this incident.  Is it safe to use Auto-Save?  What are the pros & cons?  Some say it can save something you don't want saved.

I have been crashing as well. Started a few months ago, I am running Sonar Platinum. At first it would crash when I opened a song just after opening Sonar, then it seemed to work fine but it got to the point that I expected problems every time. The crashes have been more frequent lately, yesterday it did not even want to bounce a track or export a track without a crash. The other day I was using Sound Forge and it crashed, so my thoughts turned to my computer or a plugin, at this point I don't know what the problem is. Yesterday I got a message after the crash, it said,   Module   C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll   Exception code  c0000005
My creativity is quickly turning to frustration with all the problems, and when I tried to contact support today everyone was at a "company event"   BAAAAAH!!!,  so I am shutting down until I find out the issue. I would be very disappointed if I completed a project and had to scrap it. I Googled the message and found out I am not alone by any means.
Thanks, Bob
