Version 11.05 adds a cool feature to MAutoDynamicEQ: Remove Resonances. This automatically sets narrow filters based on the highest peaks detected. Note that you have to run the target analysis process first, then click the "remove resonances" button.

It works well, but you'll only want to apply it in certain situations, e.g. vocals recorded in an untreated room. However, I tried it experimentally on a sampled strummed acoustic guitar, which, to my surprise, helped it sit in the mix. Still experimenting...

Note that this release is still in beta, but should be released in a few days.

Super cool. Not that I record in less than perfect spaces... But I'm sure it will help others who do. :-P

How about that room in guitar center with all those guitars! So many resonances it is a party!

Thanks! I do have that EQ and use it a lot.

Thanks Dave. I have had a real time of trying to record violin in my small studio. Maybe this will help. I have that plug in but haven't updated it yet.

I would definitely try it on violin, a resonance nightmare if ever there was one.

It's always had a harmonic-series filter type (so does MDynamicEQ), but it's based on simple ratios to a fundamental frequency. The new feature yields frequency series that are sometimes non-intuitive, because they're based on measurements rather than calculations. Which is good, because resonances can be from the instrument or the room, and more likely a combination of the two, in which case finding and mitigating those resonances can be a time-consuming process of trial and error.

Looks to still be the beta. 11.0.5 correct.

Yes, it is flagged as a beta release. Melda rarely has public betas. I did not notice the red beta banner.
