This thread has been marked helpful and I am proud of that. The original question was about your thoughts not do you agree or disagree with my thoughts. What I have learned most from this thread is that we all have a unique purpose for this DAW which drives what decision we make. I don't know the user who said it but the message was their is no right or wrong way to give your thoughts on this question. I do feel some took the topic seriously as if I was calling it a sub par DAW for being on the fence for renewing my subscription. Not the case at all they must have skipped all the times I wrote what I have now fits my needs. I should have known in a public forum to expect that but hey that is what this forum is all about expression.

I agree with your assessment except its not about expression at all but help and service to others.
This forum in particular is all about help. The Coffee House is all about expression.

You have a gift for understatement, my friend.

In my opinion, Platinum was a great choice for 2015. Though many of the new features I have not used, I think that they added a lot of value to the DAW. I am sure I will pay sometime in 2016, but I will wait for a gotta have moment (which comes too frequently). I am sure many will do the same.  Cakewalk has to expect this and is bound to have plans to get us on board. I think Cakewalk's subscription is effectively Cakewalk gambling on theirselves. So far, I think they are winning, but I think the stakes keep getting higher. I hope they keep winning.

This is the best answer I have read on this thread.

These type of threads tend to get tiresome. Upgrade or don't.

In which case; a) don't read the thread, and b) don't post on the thread.

1) this thread had a hidden agenda and dropped to these type of exchanges.
2) me posting and reading are not your business.

Hmm these posts about threads being tiresome are getting tiresome.. In retrospect, this comment I wrote about the tiresome post observing a tiresome post, is getting tiresome as well. I'm tired goodnight...

You know what John , I honestly wish you did not determine that this was the best answer to a thread you yourself did not start .  As a courtesy  to the OP who started this thread in the first place , should that not be the OP's right and decision ?

No, it is open to anyone to decide that. BTW a thread has no ownership. It belongs to the forum. Each post belongs to the poster that posted it. Often when someone  puts +1 in a post its a form of agreement and liking a post. That has been going on for ever. I have often said similar things about a post. At no time has anyone objected.

The OP already gave his opinions on the thread, which is something I wish OP's would do more often. His comment "What I have learned most from this thread is that we all have a unique purpose for this DAW which drives what decision we make" may seem obvious, but it's not. I believe this is particularly true with SONAR, which can be used for so many different applications.

As to judging other posts, I think that's fair game and adds to a thread's value. I don't see anything wrong with someone giving a "thumbs up" to someone else's post...especially when you have a thread this long, and people might be skimming it looking for "nuggets."

It's all good.
