well I simply meant I have had trouble with just about every update in the last 5 months. there is nothing bold about it. it is simply a statement of my experience. My lesson here is Find an update that works and forget about updates for 6 or 8 months at least. If I walked away for 24 hours I would certainly never get anything done.

too be fair is was a rant.. it had rant in the title, rants are not always rational ;)

Boost11  is one of the culprits. always had really good luck that  in the past it does not seem to be playing nice today. there was one other and I dont remember what it was cuz I already deleted it.  but Boost is definitely not acting like it usually does for me..

I had an issue for about 4 months that I struggled through and it turned out it was a video driver. I reverted back one driver and it solved all my issues. It wasn't even Sonar's fault.

I'm current with Platinum and I've not had any problems with any of the updates thus far.

check the Event Manager in Windows immediately after a crash. it will help you isolate any problem that is OS related.

I think I checked Video Drivers but i will dutifully Check them again. I did about a month ago uninstall my video Driver and reload it, updated it and didn't load some Nvidia gaming thing that i read somewhere (possible in this forum) that caused possible Sonar problems.
What Graphics Card are you Using?
Ill check the event Manager thanks for that

I think accepted wisdom is you do not need anything special or fancy for a graphics card.
Many (most) are geared towards the gaming fraternity whose needs are rather more specialised than ours.

Mine is a cheap, generic thing I don't even know what it is, but it works, and it's fanless (major criteria)

Also, there are much better limiters than Boost 11 available, do you own the Concrete Limiter? If not it might well pay to grab hold of it - keep an eye open for any deals/offers that Cake sometimes announce.
There are also 2 bundled Blue Tubes limiters - the BW2S-3 and the LM2S-3

The last update which works perfect on my machine was Everett,
rolled back a few times from jamaica aso.-
The new Kingston update is working really faster and more stable as everett in my box.

Hope the same for you.

I know it's hard to ignore the software candy delivery man who come around every month, but if stability is your primary concern you might consider setting aside two or three times a year for updating, preferably in periods where time isn't an issue. It would be nice if every piece of software shipped were perfect, but there's no such animal.

Good rant though.

What stands out to me is the nVidia card, that card can be a b*tch...
Lots of extra processes with that card...
