See my post #4. Paste just isn't lane-aware, and never has been. But there's no need to go though any gymnastics involving bouncing; just Ctrl+drag to drag-copy the selection from one lane to the other. Or you can Ctrl+C,V, which will past a copy in the same lane at the Now time, and then drag the copy to the new lane.
 
 

From this I assume CWBRN-24086 is confirmed under Platinum JP and this should be moved into problem reports.

Please confirm if the problem raised by the OP is still the case in the latest version of SONAR Kingston.  

Then raise as new post in the problem reports forum.
