What version of windows, when was the last time you ran windows update, did you install the optional updates? (if not windows 10). 
 
Here are the latest C++ libraries to install (containing mscvr120.dll), Win 8.1 and below:

Run windows update afterwards...

I got the Windows update for repair of updating to W10 today. it worked!! And with it came more great news - my SPLAT is BACK! Totally blazing. Same project now runs at 64 samples like the wind. W 10 runs very well, too I might add. Thank you Windows 10, Cakewalk, and my friends at this forum!

Please update your .sig. this thread reads read like you are running Win10 but your .sig says you are using Win7. Makes it hard to help.

I was finally able to update this afternoon. There was a Windows update that said it may help some people whose W10 update failed steadily. it worked for me.
