Just watched the new video, about using aux tracks for parallel compression. I've been wondering what aux tracks can do that buses can't (?). Forgive my ignorance!

And that is the reason I was so excited about them. I like having all the tracks (main, para comp, buses) together in one place.

Some hardware controllers and SONAR don't get along in terms of controlling buses. If all the buses look like tracks to the controller...problem solved.

Also, Aux Tracks can go into folders. So for example, I like doing multiband processing but prior to Aux Tracs that required using multiple buses. With Aux Tracks, the source track and processors can live next to each other, and be included in a folder. This neatens up projects considerably.

Aux Tracks aren't essential in that anything you can do with them, you can do with buses. However, in many situations, Aux Tracks add a welcome level of convenience.

Got it, those convenience features make a lot of sense, particularly including what are essentially buses in the same folder, and being able to control those "buses" from my MCU and Xtenders!  I rarely switch the MCU control from "track" to "aux" (bus) to control the bus levels (too lazy to switch back and forth), but with the aux tracks, that's no problem.  GREAT addition for those reasons alone.

Thanks

I hadn't thought of that, and so haven't bothered using Aux tracks.  That'll change now and clean things up nicely.  Thanks!
