I expect that upcoming update will contain really huge amount of fixes and optimizations.
After that I'd like to see next update with one new feature, many workflow enhancements, new preferences options and some forms and menus updated.

I expect the next update to contain the results of a ton of effort on the part of the Cakewalk staff.

Time for a feature freeze to last more than just a month IMHO.

All you need to do is convince the people posting requests for new features to agree with you, and it will happen.

?
And people don't post here about bugs and workflow issues every day, many of which get confirmed as reproducable and hang around for years...

Maybe vice versa if that logic is to be imposed. It's a rather odd suggestion IMHO.

No wonder stuff does not get fixed if this is the real thinking...

and at least ONE post where the user is:

leaving the forum

going back to _______ DAW (fill in the blank)

having crashes and hives and a plague of locusts

creating a ban/ignore/on line fight

I anticipate extreme anticipation.  And disappointment.  And Joy!  And regret.  And sorrow.  Outrage and mania are sure to follow, with many calming words of wisdom unheard.

I await these with worm on tongue for I shall have an even better tool to create the music that fills me with this rainbow of emotion, that better enables the buildup and ultimate release ... so I can begin criticisms and requests with renewed vigor that only a new version of software can bring.

Is it ready yet?  Has CCC shown us the light?  Brought us hope of a brighter tomorrow?!

Maybe I need some new plugins ... or another glass of wine

I know you're being rhetorical, but all Craig is saying is that there is a lot of pressure from users to implement new features. Now. Better yet, yesterday.

Hyperbole does not lead to productive discussions. Stuff DOES get fixed. There have been hundreds of bug fixes since SONAR 2015 started...way more than were applied to X3 in an equivalent period of time. You can complain that they're not the fixes you wanted, but to say "stuff does not get fixed" is ludicrous.

My point is look at all the people clamoring for "more things that relate to EDM!" "re-do MIDI from scratch!" "be more like Cubase!" "give us more color options!" "make the GUI look like Samplitude!" "make a dedicated window for editing waveforms!" "add noise reduction!" "gives us more analytic for mastering!" etc. etc....you can read the feature request forum as well as anyone. How do you think they would feel if Cakewalk did nothing but bug fixes for several months?

Make no mistake, people are just as vocal in saying "we want new features" as "we want bug fixes." And generally, it's likely that if people are getting along with SONAR and it works for them, they may place little value (if any) on bug fixes only. So that's why I say if you want a diet that consists of nothing but bug fixes, you will need to convince the people who will be up in arms that their favorite feature hasn't been added that bug fixes for things that may not even bother them are more important than the features they want.

There is no big difference between bug fixes and new features. New features could make bugs not important, and bug fixes could make old features to be like new. The number of ideas what to do is not endless, and if that speed of improvements will not reduce, all important changes will be done. Of course if developers would not reject good ideas because of some personal reasons. Maybe even more important is not to remove existing features and not change it that way that user can't continue do what he did before, if he wants. Maybe it was the main issue with X-series, and in the new Sonar it is much better.
