Make no mistake, people are just as vocal in saying "we want new features" as "we want bug fixes." And generally, it's likely that if people are getting along with SONAR and it works for them, they may place little value (if any) on bug fixes only. So that's why I say if you want a diet that consists of nothing but bug fixes, you will need to convince the people who will be up in arms that their favorite feature hasn't been added that bug fixes for things that may not even bother them are more important than the features they want.

Have you measured Sonars reputation outside the forums recently where new customers may come from? Sadly I see a lot of people already convinced about what they perceive about stability and reliability issues. Sonar is getting a reputation, well has had it for some time. It's time it got squashed.

And before somebody starts cherry picking my quotes, being disloyal or calling me a royal pain in the ass, please read this in context, I was not the one going down this path.

Alex, have you checked your forum reputation outside of this forum. You make such an impression that people mention you specifically at KVR and Gearslutz.

Hyperbole does not lead to productive discussions. Stuff DOES get fixed. There have been hundreds of bug fixes since SONAR 2015 started...way more than were applied to X3 in an equivalent period of time. You can complain that they're not the fixes you wanted, but to say "stuff does not get fixed" is ludicrous.

You are just going for the soundbyte, please let me remind you what I wrote just one post before.

I don't see much choice. Hope it's like this for a good few months. Sonar has long been out of balance between new features and fixes/long standing workflow issues. Whilst I've seen many legacy issues plugged with platinum (not enough IMHO as the balance was way off from the start) I'm perceiving just as many new issues to replace the fixes.

Time for a feature freeze to last more than just a month IMHO.

I think it's great to have the rollback feature because otherwise I would've been stuck with a buggy JP. Now if I'd been on subscription paying a measly $14.95 per month - $21.05 AU - and then having to wait for 2 week for Tech Support to get back to me and then having to spend hours going through problem-solving and then having to spend another $21 the next month to get 'possible' fixes, I'm going to pretty ticked off especially with no guarantees an additional amount of money will fix the issues.

Whilst I appreciate new features and optimisations each month, if I have a working DAW and then such an update turns it into issues and a waste of money - as measly as $21 bucks is, which all adds up mind you when your not earning a lot - then I guess I'm not going to be singing Sonar praises for a while...but of course it's easy to whinge when you have a great DAW and then an update makes it unusable...get spoiled I suppose.

Irrrespective, I'm currently on Ipswich which is working fine but I kinda resent I'm unable to access my 'entitled' new features having already paid for them. Maybe there should be a refund process for those monthly updates that introduce issues? Updates that don't work for that month for the user, maybe the next update free? Or maybe next full price renewal, less the updates that didn't work. ;

Yup I was expecting that kind of response wasn't I?

I am curious - if in January I renew my membership for the next 12 month via Steam instead of via the Cakewalk website will all my features from this years subscription will carry across to that one?

Perhaps this is Pollyannaish but why not both? New features and bug fixes? Oh wait they do that now. What is all the fuss about?

Hmm just in case you didn't get the point, here it is a third time...

Alex that is your opinion. Its how you see it. Not everyone agrees. Not that you will understand that.

Actually I was pasting in a previous quote, when you asked what the fuss was about, as though it somehow didn't exist or something. Not that you would understand that either.

If you hadn't have asked the question and just stated your opinion, I would not have pasted the quote.

Maybe next time don't ask the question.
