Hopefully a quick question. How do you import wave file drum loops? I do not want to deal with making up beats and such, never did it before and do not plan to start.

Select track and location on timeline to place it. File> Import Audio>Select Loop/file> Enter
 

... or drag/drop from the browser

or drag and drop from the media browser or Windows Explorer

Or just drag and drop from Browser (B) or Windows into SONAR.

Hey guys, thanks for the help! I did a recording just a few minutes ago. I am quite impressed. I have been trying to play around with the sonar for the last 3 days. When first trying I just used the metronome for a beat. This time I did a full song using a drum beat I had downloaded. Now to see about the editing such as fading in/out and raising/lowering volume or db on a single track. I hope it is a lot better than cool edit pro for editing!

It is only A LOT better than CEP.

Now I noticed that is was okay! It is a little more um...let's say involved compared to editing in my Mixcraft! I do have to do some more investigating things in Sonar (X1 LE). I am wondering if there are things I might be able to do in Sonar that I just cannot do in my Mixcraft? For example, pitch shifting on voice in raising up or lowering voice by an octave without sounding like a chipmunk. You know, it is just things I have to find oud for myself. Thanks for all the answers gang!!

Hi. The answer to that is yes 
I do / did not have X1 regarding pitch, but there are some free ones, if not included in X1. I also believe that (one of the) the FX packs include the Pitch Shift plugin (Dxi 32 bit)
