  • Remove a comp track split point?

I'm recording in comp mode, then using the track lanes to find the best performance.  Sometimes I get a split in the lanes that I really don't want.  The split shows up as soon as I'm done recording.  If I use undo history, I can either undo the recording, or have my recording (multiple lanes) with the unwanted split point.

Is there an easy way to remove a split point?

If I promote the two clips on each side of the unwanted split it seems like I get audio pops or crossfades that I really don't want.  If I could just get rid of the split point I would assume my original takes would remain pristine.  (Split points aren't destructive, right?)

If I take the clips on each side of the split within one lane and bounce to clip, that doesn't change the other lanes that still have split points.  Should I repeat the bounce to clip(s) for each take lane?  (This seems like a lot of work to get rid of a split point...)

Thanks

Hi, it's easy to remove all the split points at once. Lasso-select (right-click and drag) all the clips that have the split points and then hold down CTRL and click on one of the clips. It's called healing.

Thanks, icontakt!

BTW - I think I know why I got the unwanted split point!  So my last take had a short sustained note held while I reached for the space bar to stop the recording process.  The unwanted split was at the end of that short clip left in the final lane.  FWIW

This is the expected behavior of take lanes. Whatever you are recording becomes the new lane that is selected. If you stop recording before the end of a prior selected take, then the prior selected take will be the selected take except where the new take overlaps.
