Since the Start Screen is working pretty nice now, I'd like for it to open automatically whenever I close a project, the way it were a couple of updates ago. Where are the Start Screen appearance settings?

I don't know of a way to make it appear automatically but you can add a custom module button for it.  

For some reason, people objected to it showing up after closing a project so Cakewalk removed it. Maybe you should create a feature request to make this a preference?

I'd like that back. The only thing that made it bad was the slowness of the start screen appearing. Now that's fixed, it would make sense to have it re-appear on closing a project.

Exactly! I too was annoyed by the Start Screen when it first came to be, but now that it runs much smoother I'd like it to be my default way of loading projects and haveing to go via the File menu to run the SS, makes me not bother using it.  
 
I'll make a request for sure, but it should be an option to have it load automatically!

I agree-an option to have it do this would be great.  But I guess if it cannot be a user option that's OK because you can just turn it off completely whenever you needed to.
 
That option definitely need to stay. I do turn it off sometimes--just persona; work prefs for certain things....Mostly I use it though.
