I updated Z3ta-2 with the latest update, and when I ran it in standalone mode I saw a pop-up saying updating registry?  After that when I started Platinum it reported no audio devices found.  I could not see any ASIO devices in the audio device list??  After a while of flayiling, I disabled my ASIO device in the windows Sound control panel (playback and recording) and after a reboot for good measure I was back in business!!  I had the check-boxes (share with other programs and I forget the other) checked before doing the disable, but that didn't help?  The disable did the trick!

I don't think this is a Cakewalk issue.  It seams more like a windows "feature".

Just a heads up if this happens to you.

Update:  After I thought all was well, I noticed the Boss Tone studio would not work.  I re-enabled the boss devices and all is working again??  Now I can run Sonar and Boss tone studio?  It must be the driver settings got changed.

This is what I and others do.

1) Use the internal sound device (on your motherboard) in windows control panel sounds. Disable all other audio devices.

2) Route a cable from the output of device in (1) into the audio interface, assuming you have enough inputs.

That way less chance of windows getting in the way, and you can play back YouTube vids etc at different sample rates than your current DAW project.

Also if you haven't updated your audio interface drivers and firmware in a long while do so. And don't forget in sonar preferences there is an option to share the audio device or not. Don't use ASIO4ALL!!

Cheers...
