The background color is accessible, just not in preferences. I uploaded a .clr file a while ago now with all default color schemes from X1->X3 in it. You can adjust schemes to get clip background color in X1/X2 then export and import to the new SONAR.

thanks - i saw it, and appreciate it... but is that really the way it should be?  they literally took the feature away!

I want to have auto-color clip background option, so if I change foreground color, background would be set automatically to some configurable derivative from it.
