Hi
Some of the sounds I play hve slow attacks. They allways sound late. Is there a midi plugin that compensates for the slow attack? This way I could work to grid and quantise and the plug in would precede the note's timing on plaback so they play on beat. I can't believe no one has though of this before...
 
I remember seeing something like that in the past, it was a simple slider that appeared on midi tracks and with it you could adjust timings on the fly... Wasn't this in older Sonar versions (Before X1?)

Use the time offset control in the MIDI track's inspector. Double click it, then either enter the offset you require (in ticks, positive or negative values) or click the + and - buttons to get the value you want.
 
 

If I'm understanding you properly, this is an OLD feature that's been present since when Cakewalk was a DOS program. I use it a lot.
 
Every MIDI track has a "Time +" parameter, which can accept both positive and negative values. You can access it by clicking on a midi track and looking at the inspector. The "Time +" setting is at the bottom of the right-hand channel. Double click it, enter a value. Negative values will make notes play ahead of time.

The MIDI track inspector has tons of useful stuff in it. Learn it, use it. love it. Like I say, a lot of this stuff was nailed down and working great 20 years ago, and it's all still there.
