I decided to go ahead and take the plunge with Platinum since, while there are GREAT, and reasonably priced drum programs out there, I couldn't find any that offered a blank generic drum map so ANY sound could be mapped to it, not just their proprietary sounds.  Battery 4 kame klose (get it?) but not quite.  And I know there's another freebie out there that I've tried before, but it was WAAY too cumbersome. 
 
So, here's my plan.  To use almost exact sounds that I like in putting the tune together, then using the Replacer to replace those unwanted sounds.  Also, the Perc. Strip sounds VERY NICE.  So, can my dream come true?

The drum replacer is designed to reinforce drum tracks with sampled sounds. You want to do more than it's designed for. Platinum gives you Addictive Drums 2 and a drum map for that, plus a bunch of other drum maps if you buy a third party program. You also get additional kits with AD2 that are really quite good.
