Updating to version 5.0.0 is not a required update; however, some iLok-protected software may require that you use a version of 2.5.0 or greater. Please download the latest version from the iLok License Manager page of ilok.com.
New in version 5.0.0:
  • Added support for automatic updates
  • Added notifications for iLok Cloud use
  • Faster load times of protected products
  • Installer asks to close the iLok License Manager if running
  • Help users turn on Theft & Loss Coverage if a Zero Downtime membership has been purchased for an iLok
  • Better error messages when you try to move licenses to or from the cloud
  • Vertical splitter cursor is no longer shown because the left locations pane has a fixed width
  • Cloud location on machine A should not display cloud activations if the user has a cloud session open on machine B
  • Fixed the transfer payment dialog for languages other than English
  • Fixed a typo for the Close cloud session dialog

I always get a little knot in my stomach before updating ilok.  I always see my licenses drifting off into a cyber black hole.

Think I'll wait for the 5.01 or whatever comes next.
Not currently having any issues nor wanting any from a new .0 release.

I did the upgrade, at the end it wanted to reboot my computer (Windows 7 64-bit).  I closed everything and said yes, but after getting to the very end of the shutdown it just went into a loop ("Shutting Down Computer").  I gave it 10 minutes and hit the reset button.  It did come back up without a problem and everything seems fine but no software should do that.

I tried a half dozen iLok products and everything seemed to work.  It's hard to say for sure but they do seem to open faster, so there may be some upside to this.

I'm not so sure about having iLok check for updates and autoupgrade itself so I turned that off.  Looks like it will check daily or weekly for you.  But I'm not sure I want that nor is it clear how it will handle it when an update is found.
