geek stuff:
a non mastered file, i mixed this into a Limiter across the master bus, and output at 16 bit 44.1khz.
it's about -12rms.

mix issues working on:
kick-bass-snare lock
low end tightness versus fullness
how much more high end does this need.

Great stuff Rob. Cracking groove, sounds simple but loads of little details going on. Really like that ''grab 'em by the short hairs'' section into the breakdown, then back to the groove, excellent stuff.

What can one say, the production quality is top notch and this deserves more recognition than the number of plays on Soundcloud has given it. Nice on Rob and keep em coming.

lyric:

The Wild Animals

Just because they smile, and grease back their hair,
Doesn’t mean there’s any kind of heart in there
They’ll give you pellets of poison to put in your tea,
They  say there’s nothing phucking wrong with me

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

It’s a kick back, kick YOU, nothing you can really do,
If you give em a chance, they’ll chase you into the
Afterlife too!

“lets book a trip to the Riviera, Sarah,  bring the doctor along”
“nobody will miss us back home”,
When the sh!t goes wrong

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

It’s just the modern chemistry, the artistry of grabbing by the short hairs,
They stay awake at night, and they count their money til the
Morning light

It’s a cautionary tale, that we all can relate
It’s a taste of a real time devils delight
At the cocktail party, or the local church family affair
The poison pellets are playing truth or dare.

Please, do not feed the wild animals
Better left alone, the wild animals

Listening on a crappy pair of earbuds so it’s hard to offer in meaningful suggestions.
But as always I love your stuff!
Keep rocking!

Hey, Rob, How's it going, brother?  Hope you're doing great!

Guess i already missed the first mix, but you've got a very cool, rocker with excellent songwriting, great playing and vocals, as always, and a nice clear, wide mix!

Lots of cool tasty tidbits popping up throughout the whole song, and I really like the little solo adlib fills after the break.

Anyway, great stuff as usual, Rob, and I'm always glad to catch a of new Batsbrew production while they're fresh out of the oven!

Have a good one, buddy!

hey james!
thanks for checking this one out..
yea, lots of stuff going on, over a pretty straightforward beat.
that breakdown, yea, once the last cymbal hits, i blend in 3 guitars feeding back in unison....
almost sounds like a keyboard break

appreciate that biodiode!
well, it had only been on the soundcloud for about 15 minutes before i posted it!
so, since these are working demos/songs, i don't like to leave them up for more than a few days,
but i'll post updates as i get feedback and make changes accordingly.
i mean, i don't do everything that everyone suggests,
but i read every suggestion, and if it's an eye opener, i run with it....

really very good Bats. Great hook
I don't believe it needs any more high end.
There is a tone somewhere that is ringing - maybe tightening up the low end would remove it.
