Please make sure that SONAR is closed before applying the update otherwise the installer will not be able to write the files and you risk getting an incomplete install. If something is stuck in memory like the start screen it will not be updated. If in doubt do a reboot and then install before running SONAR.

There's an enhancement request in the making (detect process is not running before proceeding).

Took a while to come in (hooray, crappy Australian Internet  ) and I did get a hang during an Install All in the Rapture Session category. I exited the installer, and then installed each component one by one and it all went in fine that time. Everything else installed fine.

Man, you guys weren't kidding about the speed increase were you? Inserting templates (say for multitracked drum mic setups) or recalling mixes, etc. is crazy fast now. Massive improvement! That's gonna save me hours alone! HAHA! Great work!

Digging a lot of the Rapture Session sounds. As always there's a lot of "well that's interesting, but unusable" stuff in there but there's also some real gems in there too. You could easily do an entire song with that plugin alone.

I did see someone report something funky going on with Aux tracks. I had a bit of a play and I did indeed get SONAR to hang. I don't have an exact recipe for that as yet, but it was what the other poster mentioned about deleting Aux tracks and then assigning other tracks to the now deleted out. More info here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/CWBRN41639-Removing-Aux-track-doesnt-remove-corresponding-sends-m3321657.aspx

But other than that, just the brief time I've played with this, it may not be a "glamour" release with a lot of cool new marquee things but it's definitely one of the best under the hood this year for me. Cheers, Bakers!

After updating, opening a project.. it gave me error messeges and half of my rapture instruments were reverted back to th default 808 poly thing and I had to go re find the instruments. Other than that, everything is going grea. Nice and smooth.

SOLVED - My Kingston installation (see previous post)
It must have been a corrupt download (even though it verified).  I renamed the old exe download and re-downloaded Kingston, reinstalled (via CCC) and it works fine (apart from TH3 - but that's a different matter).

Yeah its many orders of magnitude faster. i Didn't realize it would also impact mix recall bit yes... since it is essentially loading tracks behind the scenes, the optimization applies to that feature as well. Many other edit operations will see a benefit as well.

Glad it's working well for you. Well look into your patchpoints issue. If you can email me a recipe or project link it would be helpful.

I'm finding it very difficult to get a reliable recipe for the crash, although it's happening enough to tell me something's up, and there's an odd naming issue going on too. I'll PM you my steps. Cheers!

Download and install were fast and smooth here in Berlin. Kingston seems to start up and load a bit faster. I don't have time to put it through its paces yet but so far, everything seems in order! Great stuff and once again, I think generally the new model has been pretty thoroughly vindicated at this point - keep up the good work and I for one fully intend to stay on board the good ship Sonar!

OK, that helped. Is there any advantage of installing the new files? It does not change the content, right?

We have added cleaner naming conventions for the Rapture Pro bank content. These will swap out old versions for the new nicely named ones. There were also some cross dependencies with the content installers where some programs may not work correctly unless users installed multiple packs. This has also been resolved where packs can now be installed on demand and all programs dependencies are contain in the new packs. But that's not all! The Rapture Pro banks content should all have better volume balances from program to program.

Thank you very much. That's worth the download!
Should I remove the old multisamples before installing the new Rapture Pro Packs? Will there be any files twice?

I also want to know if we'll have duplicated files.
