Craig, I'd like to get those AL Green guitar tones, how 'bout it??

Try the Jazz CA-X amp for now. I must admit I was looking for more of a Wes Montgomery jazz sound with a little Joe Pass thrown it, but it should hold you over until I hone in on the sound you want a bit more  
 
The Funk amp probably won't do what you want, I sort of did it in honor of Larry Graham...even though Larry's a bass player and went on to work with Prince, when he was doing Graham Central Station he was an early adopter of an effect I designed called the "Funk Machine." That's included in the amp.
 
If you can provide links to songs with the specific guitar tone you want, I'll get on it. It would fill a hole between the Jazz and Funk models if I do it right.

I am blown away by the coolness of this thread. It is like having a resident custom designer at ones beck and call. It isn't the idea of this but rather that a member sees the request as doable. The cool thing is it is doable! BTW I wouldn't mind having this as well.

The guitar is cool on Let's stay Together, but, geez, check out the drum and bass tracks.  I can't get enough separation to tell if there is a separate click bass, or if that's just how the kick and bass were cut.

Konradh, I can distinguish the kick and the bass well on my monitors.
