Remember R-Mix? Roland weird plugin that removes or isolates a precise part of the sound spectrum and lets you automate the crap out of it? I got it back!

Rememver VC64 (Vintage Channel) This was a really cool and sophisticated all in one Channel strip, very versatile and with tons of attitude? I got it back also!

Yeah!

P.S. I mis Lexicon Pantheon..

I think it is sad that with each evolution of Sonar we loose cool plugins.. I wish there was a way to keep them in our buyer database, we paid for these plugins...

You can always do a custom install of older versions and install whatever you want. I have Sonar X1, X2, X3 and Platinum installed...so I have everything except Lexicon Pantheon which was included in Sonar 8.5 I believe.

Nice! I have Sonar 8.5 on DVDs... Sonar 8.5 was a killer DAW by the way..

Try the custom install...and only select it and you'll have it back. Yes 8.5.3 is still used by a few guys here.

Luckily, for me anyway, the VC64 never went away. (I say luckily because I never did anything special during each upgrade to keep it available, it has just remained an available plug-in)  I have been using it since it first showed up.  It has actually been a pretty good training tool for me.  Going through the presets and seeing/hearing what effect the different routings and settings of each component had, then making adjustments to hear the changes has been helpful in making aural connections between the processors and their effect relative to where they are in the signal chain.

I'm right with you on the VC64. It's a great way of putting 2 compressors, 2 equalizers, and a de-esser on a track. It does everything from sweet, transparent additions, to full on alteration of the sound. I still have the Lexicon Pantheon, but only rarely use it for it's particular sound. Never could quite find a use for the R-mix, but it's still there, might go back and revisit it now that you've jogged my memory.

I have X1, X2 and X3 still installed on this machine, along with Sonar 2015, so all te plugins from those versions (like RMix) are still available.

I did a custom install of Sonar 6 to get the Lexicon Pantheon reverb back, as I missed it as well.  Having said that, I do not seem to use it anymore since Breverb and the Softube Reverb (from the mix bundle, cant remember it's name) turned up.

Craig A showed some great tricks for using the  VC64 (Vintage Channel) on his Advanced Workshop videos, IIRC.

The VC64 is the central part of my FX chain for vocal treatment.

I love VC64. I just used it recently on a kick/snare submix that neede some taming.
