Hello All,

I just bought SONAR Artist a couple of months ago (I made a one payment for the full 12 months update period).  I am really satisfied with my purchase as I came from Cubase Elements.  There is no comparison between the features set I received in SONAR Artist and the features I received from Cubase Elements considering that both DAWs are at the same entry level.

I have been working with SONAR Artist and I haven't missed any of the features of the higher versions, at least based in the features set published in Cakewalk site.  However now I am seeing that there are several features that were introduced in the monthly updates and that are not documented in the Features Cakewalk webpage for SONAR, per example Aux Tracks and other exclusive for Professional and Platinum versions.

Now I was notified that there is a discounted sell for SONAR upgrades and I am thinking in pulling the trigger however I am not sure if I really need to upgrade my SONAR Artist.  I am thinking in upgrading to Professional but I don't know what additional features will I get because Cakewalk web is not updated with that information.

So my question is: where can I find an updated features comparison between SONAR versions?  Does it worth to upgrade from SONAR Artist to SONAR Professional considering that I also have Waves Golden Bundle and iZotope Alloy, Nectar and Ozone?

Thanks for your answer John, but that list is not updated with the last additions to SONAR Professional and Platinum as I mentioned in the OP.  You can easily see that in that list there is no reference to the Aux Tracks, Patch Points (which are not available in Artist) nor the upcoming Monitorizer FX Chain.

Also I would like to have some advice about if it is worth to upgrade to Professional considering  the plugins I already have.

There doesn't seem to an up to date comparison chart anywhere, no. If you scroll through the "rolling updates" list, though, you'll see that each feature is marked according to which versions it's in. A bit more cumbersome, but contains the information you need:

I don't know how to answer you. I have Sonar Platinum. It would be the one I would recommend. It really depends on what you are looking for. One issue I would look into is the Pro Channel. In Platinum you get a lot more modules. To me its what makes Sonar unique.

What you may want to look at is the Rolling Updates list here http://www.cakewalk.com/P...g-Updates#start.

Morning Pat
I have been following along on CW a long time. I decided to go Pro, which used to be the top of the line. Now they introed Plat. Through the years I have acquired a lot of the extras that are in Plat. That was my determined factor. I don't need  any more drum anything. The new vocal mod might be nice. But, I don't NEED it. I was a little taken aback she I was bumped down to number 2, but it's cool I can deal with that. There a few added features, but for me not worth the extra cost. This is just my opinion on what works for me. Check with the bakers, they may let you bump up with a marginal fee. Luck to you.
