So - I'm forcing myself to move away from using conventional bussing and mix a few projects using this new architecture.

not too hard to wrap my head around -

I opened up something I tracked a few years ago using sonar 7 - and am trying out some ideas on the live drums.

The first thing I am noticing is that when I solo an aux track - say "All Drums" - sonar does not seem to solo any info that is feeding it - so - it seems you have to hunt and solo each track individually that feeds the aux - perhaps that's a setting I do not have clicked somehwere,,?  I understand that I could put everything in a folder and just solo that - say - if I just wanted to work on my entire drum mix I now have to solo 13 different tracks and the aux - as opposed to just the bus in previous mixes.  It seems like I should be able to solo an aux and have everything associated with it come up in the solo action?  Perhaps I am missing a step?

That was the first thing I noticed with the new aux tracks as well. This thread has more detail, but the short answer is that solo does not match track functionality (yet) and the workaround is to use folders for this.

Yep, I've been using Aux Tracks a lot for the same purpose of grouping/processing tracks within the track view, and the lack of a bus-like solo function is a bit frustrating.  However, Cakewalk did specify right off the bat that soloing an aux track would not solo all tracks feeding it, so at least it isn't a bug.  Not sure if this is something that will eventually be possible or not, but I for one can live with the minor inconvenience of having to solo multiple tracks.  I just LOVE the new routing capabilities.
