I swear the one in X3e uses a random number generator.
If I pick a different track, the controller pane vanishes.
If I try to raise the controller pane into view, the vertical zoom level changes to "balloon animal" levels.
Yes, this is a rant. Please fix the PRV, because it's driving me crazy.

Yes!  Me too.   Though it's not just the PRV, also the event list, for one.

I'm looking forward to seeing if the PRV behavior has improved in the new Sonar.
