  • Zoom tool in Tempo View affects Track view.

I found out that the vertical zoom tool in the tempo view does not affect the tempo view but it affects the track view.
The horizontal view works as i would expect , on the tempo view.
This happens only when the focus is on the track view. When i put the focus on the tempo view the horizontal and vertical zoom both work on the tempo view.

It is workable but it took me some time to find out why this occured and how to get around it.

I am using sonar X3 (build 352) on my W10 laptop.

I have to admit i probably did some weird stuff with this song. Because after restarting Sonar the problem disapeared.

This is a longstanding bug. IIRC, it only occurs when the tempo list pane is open.

It is also an X3 related problem which OP forgot to state, which I can not reproduce in S-Plat Dave.

Don't you get bothered when this term shows up in threads?

Actually, this issue was fresh in my mind because I just encountered it again the other day in JP. As I said, it only happens if the List pane is open as shown in the OP's screenshot. So the workaround is to temporarily close the List pane.

Yes, it's somewhat irksome that dumb bugs like this can hang around for so long, but I understand that it's not possible to get to everything, and that the Bakers have to prioritize. Part of that process is considering how frequently it's reported, how troublesome/damaging it is, and whether it has an easy workaround. The fact that this one comes up so rarely on the forum is indicative of the low impact/frequency of the issue. And it's just a display issue that has an easy workaround, though that might not be immediately obvious.

The bottom line is that I just choose not to sweat the small stuff that I know how to avoid or work around. But I *do* feel for users that haven't been using Cakewalk/SONAR for decades, and don't know all the little quirks.

Interesting Dave I just tried this in both S-Plat and X3e Producer and I can not reproduce even with a similar set of views docked in the multi dock

Possibly you've got track heights locked in the TV or Auto Track Zoom enabled or something the prevents it? Or it's an O.S. thing. Are you on Win10?

I re-examined this and discovered in SONAR X3e Producer if you use the +/- gadgets rather than the slider gadget I could reproduce, but not so in SONAR S-Plat.  Yes I am running Windows 10.
