beeps, no just this one.  years ago I had a different one, "guglielmo", or something like that.   As computers die I do lose track of my various avatars.

John, having sonar on three computers would seem to identify you as a Cakewalk employee, right?  In which case, it would be the moral thing to not post as you do..

I take it you are joking. I am and have always been a member of this forum. I am not an employee. BTW I only have the one ID on this forum.

I have Sonar on three computers. My desktop which is very complex, a tablet and a laptop. Sonar Platinum runs on all three quite well.

Hmm 3PC's = two licenses (one license = 2 PC's, can't use them at the same time). You bought it twice?

Right, I liked it so much I bought it twice!

hmmmmm......Mine hangs daily, or more frequently. Probably is my piano playing that does it...

did you try lowering the talent threshold in the crash options ? ;-)

Yes whatever, but the new avatar "soundwise" sounds a whole lot like "John" aka "I love sonar" aka "it's all good"

I don't know what my posts sound like to you, but yours surely don't sound very friendly. Had I been working for the Cakewalk, I would take pride in it and definitely would not disguise it, but I do not possess skills that might be useful for the software development. Besides that, what is the reason to promote Sonar among registered users? I can't see any. Can you?
Please, William, keep it on topic and do not make it personal.

Another happy Sonar (Platinum) user here -
I have MUCH to learn about its true capabilities, but so far, so good!
It's come a LONG way since I first installed from floppy disks back in the early '90s!

I previously had audio interface issues with Sonar, but turns out it was a timing conflict between SPDIF and ADAT connections I was using - hardware problems, not Sonar.
The other consistent problem(s) I had were centered around my Novation Impulse 49 keyboard ~
once I dumped Automap and switched to Azlo's plugin, everything has been working great!

And no, I don't work for Cakewalk, even though I have been a follower and customer on and off (a reflection of my sporadic involvement in music, NOT because I left Cakewalk for another product) for many years. Although, I imagine working there could be quite fun - can you imagine learning how to really use the software from the Bakers themselves?!!

Wonder if they're hiring old interns?

I'm getting random auto-save crashes. Now extremely paranoid and have to manually save often because an auto-save crash means that the auto-save file gets corrupted.

I've put a feature request on the new feature forum for Sonar to have an auto-save folder (next to the per project audio folder) that is always saving a new file version as opposed to saving over the previous auto-save. This would at least allow all work up to the auto-save crash to be salvaged. Not too much interest there though... :-(

Big projects take FOREVER to load, which is pretty frustrating. Seeing regular crashes on opening sessions, closing sessions, closing the program and less frequently freezing tracks and using region FX. Other various (but potential other manufacturer's errors) are UAD cards not always unloading all FX after closing sessions (not a problem before JP or in X2) and SP occasionally can't play through my RME MADI FX AES output (this is also new with JP and not something I've ever seen with X2). Not the end of the world (often just restart program or with the latter issues, restarting the computer)... but pretty embracing when clients visit.

Also seeing quite a few take lane/comping errors and issues. I'm compiling a long list to send to Cakewalk in the next week or so. Pretty unhappy about these as it has made comping a nightmare at times. I've been persistently finding workarounds for all of these issues though and slowly gaining speed again.

Tried the usual fixes besides a complete reinstall. So busy working that it has been hard to fit it in, but the wasted time using SP makes me wish I had never made the move from X2. Now locked in using the Region FX for my current project.

I have a really nice computer (ADK built Hex-Extreme - Win 7 64bit) and will say that Platinum isn't as stable as X2 or Pro Tools 11 over here. Crashes are a daily and most often hourly occurrence on SP and a weekly experience on X2 or Pro Tools.

Glad it's working out for so many people though. Hopeful for continued solid support and features from the guys at Cakewalk and confident they can slowly work through the bugs. It must be extremely difficult sorting through and troubleshooting all of the possible setups! Cakewalk user since midi only 3.0 from the twelve tone days.

In my experience so far. Platinum is less stable than previous versions (I go right back before Pro AUdio was released)
I have had crashes. SOnar saving the project every few seconds - makes it awful hard to edit something. (yes I have checked the configuration) Also, more dropouts, it seems to be putting most of the load on one core.
I am not at all happy with what seems to me to suggest inadequate testing.
