• SONAR
  • Is Sonar stable? Yes, definitely! (p.5)

The load on one core is a known bug. Agree JP not stable... Go to ipswitch update 1 or Gloucester.

Disagree.

JP has been totally stable on all 3 of my systems (yes, three!)
DAW, Desktop & Laptop

I forget what a crash looks like.

Well there are a number of reproducible JP issues confirmed by the bakers in these very forums so it's not really an opinion thing any more, glad your workflow clearly bypasses these issues.

We will just wait and hope to see what this months release brings I guess..

AFAIK, software stability depends greatly on user's hardware configuration. There also might be some conflicts with with software from different vendors. The best way to sort out what's causing stability issue is to keep a partition on a hard drive to be able to do a fresh install of OS and software that crashes, e.g. just Windows and Sonar. If you still have crashes, then the problem is hardware related. If that works stable then you'll need to sort out software that causes crashes.

Yes whatever, but the new avatar "soundwise" sounds a whole lot like "John" aka "I love sonar" aka "it's all good".

John, having sonar on three computers would seem to identify you as a Cakewalk employee, right?  In which case, it would be the moral thing to not post as you do..

I can confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the first and only Cakewalk employee participating in this conversation up to this point.

Do you also have three laptops with Sonar on?
Because apparently if you do, you are not allowed to post .....

Also opinions are not allowed!!!

I recommend WilliamCooper immediately gets promoted to forum host anyway, he seems qualified enough to boss people around...

I have Sonar on three laptops and wish I worked for Cakewalk!

Williamcooper - have a good long look at Joeys Avatar and you might just pick up a subtle clue that will in future alert you when someone from Cakewalk comments. This newfound knowledge will save you from needlessly insulting  people who spend a lot of time helping us out - you know - out of the goodness of their heart.

Given the large number of copies of Sonar that are out there, the problems discussed on this forum are hardly a significant enough sample size to declare it unstable. If you believe it is, here's why:

Happy to help.

PS. No way does that Joey bloke work for Cakewalk:)

I wish to admit that I am an employee of the NSA, Steinberg, Avid, and Magix.  Anyone who has been fooled by my posts,  well, sorry, rest in peace.

I knew it all along, the clues have always been there for anyone to see:

  • "Copper" starts with a "C," "Cubase" starts with a "C."
  • "Copper" has two syllables, "Cubase" has two syllables.
  • "Steinberg" means "rock mountain." And where do you mine "copper"? You extract it from rocky mountains!
  • "William" is a popular German name in its German form "Wilhelm," and Steinberg started in Germany.
  • Most tellingly, the Wikipedia entry for "Kaiser Wilhelm," who was the last German emperor, states: "Bombastic and impetuous, he sometimes made tactless pronouncements on sensitive topics without consulting his ministers."

Coincidence? You decide!

I am in the happy camper crowd here, and sympathize with those who have issues. But I do not embrace the less courteous people that always lays the "burden" of their problems onto people that is willing to help them. I am quite new to this forum, but have seen enough to choose whom I will lend my hand to, and where to just pass by without even thinking about their problems. I salute all the helpful people here, and hope they will be here for all the people that really needs it.
All the best.
