...after tech support snobbishly told me it was an old plugin,
what is a good replacement for the CA-2A?

No need to replace it, it's great. Does it not work for you?

Also, I find it HUGELY unlikely that anyone at Cake support would say this. Did you dial the correct number? Was it a competitor's support (your post doesn't say it was Cake support)?

Very odd..

In fact, replace "HUGELY unlikely" with "Impossible", unless you completely misunderstood something.

I'm with the consensus here...... I get great results with it.  Wouldn't want to give it up!  I think that somehow you just got some really bad information.

Could there be confusion between the PC2A and CA-2A? I'm not sure I know the difference myself.

That very well could be Craig. But even if true its still not old.  LOL

Agreed. I have a CA-2A installed and it works just fine.

I am wondering the PC2A myself, but thought an update to that replaced it with the CA-2A. Cannot remember exactly now but it converted itself over for me a couple years ago.

CA-2A. One of the few plugins that works, is modern (VST3) and does not have any issues that I know about. I heard there was some issue with VST3 going on with JP though.

Wish the OP would return and share more info. I don't have the CA2A so I can't address any issues with it, but that doesn't sound like a response I'd expect from Cakewalk's support team.

We need more info please.

I couldn't find any references to problems with JP and VST3. It's working here. Care to elaborate?
