Thanks Noel. Nice to have information instead of speculation.

Assuming this is a dig at me, for the third time I said I had no idea about the scope of the issue. I was extremely careful with what I said. There was no speculation whatsoever.

The only correction is that I was under the impression it was a JP issue, instead (whatever this issue is) it's been an issue since X3 and still is a JP issue. You can hardly call that an exaggeration.

this project would appear to be referencing the old PC-2A

CA-2A also works for my purposes, responses appreciated, this is not meant to be mean, but it is true.
What issue/s are you having?
Called tech support to fix Silent hardware + VST re-link issue.
When opening a project containing CA-2A, there was a link issue even after the project was saved. Not a big deal, but annoying and time to resolve. Was told the plugin was old (as if that had anything to do with the OP) Tech then guided me on a journey to resolve the issue, which is still happening.

People get burned out, etc. Working with VFX companies, all tech calls are recorded and the point here is to resolve the issue not be a D**k.
For the most part I get along with Tech support, and they have been helpful, hence this anomaly.

Yeah, PC2A <> CA2A... I'd suggest swapping the PC2A with the CA2A in your project because I don't think you'll ever get it to stick, since they aren't the same thing.

That popup on the lower right is what I was wondering... "Original Name" is listed as "PC2A" which was replaced by the CA-2A. IIRC, I believe it was when purchasing a ProChannel pack... the "stock" PC2A got updated to the CA-2A during that install (which also removed the PC2A as well). I do remember actually trying to re-install the PC2A to "get it back" at some point but was not worth the effort and pointless as the CA-2A is newer/better.

If you have installed the CA-2A on your machine, the PC2A is "gone," which is probably the reference to the "old plugin" by tech support.

I am sorry I cannot offer specific details, but my experience with this was a few years ago now.

Mostly but not exclusively directed at you because there's been a lot of speculation, like whether or not the tech guy was a jerk, my comment about "Could there be confusion between the PC2A and CA-2A?," Joel77 saying "that doesn't sound like a response I'd expect from Cakewalk's support team, we need more information please," etc. But as to your comment "[The CA-2A] does not have any issues that I know about. I heard there was some issue with VST3 going on with JP though," given the context of the thread and the juxtaposition of those two statements, it certainly appeared you were speculating that there could be some VST3/JP issue affecting the CA-2A that you didn't know about. Noel provided actual information that's not the case.

Agreed. I have a CA-2A installed and it works just fine.

Craig, or anyone else that the CA-2A is working "fine" for,
When I insert CA-2A in the ProChannel, I can not change the meter from GR. When I click the dial, the dial gets focus but can not be changed. If I insert the CA-2A in the effects bin the meter dial works. If I then go back to the instance in the PC the dial will work.
Can anyone reproduce this? Or is it just me?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but several of you here claim the CA-2A is working for you.

And as I said I had no idea what plugins it effects or the scope of the issue. Several times. If it 'appears' I was saying anything else then that is YOUR speculation and NOT what I actually wrote. Now attempting to paraphrase around it. Pathetic and all to predictable (that's why I was extremely careful with what I wrote, seen this happen before).

I've had this exact problem but it is transient. It comes and goes.

This is a good explanation on the issue. Old meaning replaced by a newer version. That makes sense. Thanks Mettelus for putting this all in context.
