My Google skills seem to be lacking. I can't find a listing of the version history of Cakewalk from the frist version for DOS to the latest version Sonar 8. Anyone have such a list?

It would be nice to have the month & year of release, which OS it worked with, and CPU/RAM requirements.

Thanks!

There actually was a site a while back with exactly that info, but I couldn't find it when I was looking recently; maybe it died a natural internet death.

Thanks for making me feel old. I went from Cakewalk Professional 3 for Windows, to Sonar Producer 3, to Sonar Producer 5, to Sonar Producer 8. This was all after I tried the Voyetra Technologies midi sequencer back in the mid 80s.

Another thought is that the product name of Sonar started at what would have been Cakewalk 10. Does that mean when Sonar gets to 10 the name will change again? Just a thought.

So we are on, like, Cakewalk 19.0

Just right click on the Sonar.exe file, and select the version tab. That'll tell you exactly what version they're up to. Looks like they didn't start counting until the Windows versions started appearing.

FB01??

Sorry, but I liked that little dude.

It had some drawbacks in it's program changes implementation, but had some quite cute little "colorization" sounds that I H**LA used in the late 80's.
