What genre are mainly focusing on? Theres plenty of knowledgeable people here. Welcome and im sure everybody here would be happy to answer questions of yours.

I deal with mostly hip-hop/rap/r&b style. I dont know your past experience much but if you need help in those genres feel free to PM me, i check this pretty often throughout the day. You can also PM me or ask here for basic set ups questions such as finding your interface etc...

There's a fairly large variety of musicians here to get knowledge and tips from. Id recommend checking out Craig Andertons tip thread as well.

Ok well may I first start by saying you are handsome Woody *giggles*, and thank you so much for your kindness. I am a kpop, jpop, vocaloid and anime coverist. Kpop mostly centers around the r&b, techno,  pop, hip-hop, trot and ballad genres so I'm sure you would see the similarities except the language it is in! I and my sister have Scarlett 2i2's and Audio Technica at2020 xlr mics(you could say we are music twins and think alike, plus Sweetwater has good deals)

Right now I am hoping that Sonar can help me with my mixes sounding so thin cellphone speakers, since audacity just wasn't doing it for me and adobe audition scares me lol, but I have been looking up tutorials all day and I just wanted to see the best way to start it off, since my genres are quite similar but different.

Start doing it right away if you had watch cakewalk video. You will make mistakes and it is ok. We all learn by mistakes. The more you do the better you become. There are some good basic tutorial that comes in the manual.

Groove3.com is were I learn most of the time. This forum is full of good and experience cakewalk users that are always eager to help.

Well thank you very much! I will definitely look into groove3! But can any of you help me with this problem? My sister an I's mixes come out really thin on cellphones but they sound good on computers, beats Pills, and headphones. We record in our bedroom so how do we get our mixes to sound good on our mobile phones, like when we watch or listen from YouTube or faceboook?! We are going mad simply because they are so many coverists who mix in their bedrooms and their mixes sound great on cellphones!

Why do our mixes sound so thin?!
