  • Which EQ in Sonar Plat would be the equivalent to IK Multi Master EQ 432?

IK Multimedia Master EQ 432? I have read really good reviews on this EQ, but at over $200 AUD it is way too expensive. And with no IKM sales looming (not even a Black Friday one) it is not really on the shopping list. So I thought maybe I already have one that is as good, (but don't know it ;) ) already in Splat!

Hi. Have you tried the LP-64 EQ? It is a great EQ. It is a bit cpu hungry, so it is best to leave it to the mixing stage, and not use during tracking.
All the best.

Yes I have tried both the LP versions and I don't really like them in the main mix area..There are a few in the Nomad pack that I see, but I have been told elsewhere that the Nomad plugs are not all that good.

Pro Channel EQ or BT PEQ5B will do just fine. If you need M/S processing there's a Channel Tools plugin. If you need to process Mid and Side separately you can use Patch Points to route signal to two Aux tracks, one for Mid, the other for Side processing.  Hope that helps.

Hello Joden. This is just my opinion. Platinum have some great eq's no doubt and I'm sure a very experienced engineer could get close to what the IK 432 does...BUT, not many! It is a wonderful master eq and your masters will definitely benefit from it. Some plugins are hyped up too much but this is not one of them. It's one of those things you won't miss until you have one, then you will not want to ever be without it. I know what you said about the price and I understand that, I just wanted you to know that it IS worth it. Also agree with Zargg71 about the LP-64. Thanks.

I agree with Jeff. There are great EQ plugs in Sonar, (some of which I use in every project) but they're not equivalent to IK's Master EQ 432. That thing does some kind of magic that no other EQ I've owned or used can do.

I bought it last year during their year end/Holiday/group buy, sale. I believe it's well worth the money. Even better if you can get it on sale.

The free Variety of Sound Baxter eq is pretty good.
If you head on down to the software or deals forum you'll get lots of advice on good and/or cheap eqs!
