Been using Sonar since ever and NEVER used console view. What for? I don't even get the purpose. I guess some people like the overview it gives... ? :-)

When the day comes that my VS-700 studio no longer works, I *may* consider a big almost-horizontal multi-touch monitor for the Console view and a second monitor for all the stuff I do in Sonar today.  I would have to be convinced that the ergonomics were right, though.  Small things like scaling and wrist-rests make a big difference.

I keep console view open on a second monitor always......love it.

Yep, same here.  Track view is open on a 22" monitor just off to the left of my laptop, and Console view stays open on the laptop's 17" monitor.  If I need to access the Windows desktop etc., I just minimize the Console view.

On the Track view I primarily edit and create automation envelopes etc.  Mixing is all done in Console view.  That just seemed the most comfortable and natural way to work.

Hey it's ok horses for courses and so on. I never use the Matrix or even screen sets all I have is track view on one monitor and console or step sequencer on the other. Cos i use busses a lot the console view makes sense. Also adjusting levels within multi out synths like Kontakt I just find easier in console view.
I guess as more people use the new routing options this will be less important.
