I've never really had a problem with Sonar crashing in the past... so this is kind of unexpected.

Recently upgraded to Jamaica Plain from X3.....

Had been Demoing PSP Echo and TkDelay....and thought one of them the culprit.....removed both from my vst folder and started a new test project....

Disabled my wireless card and my antivirus (which, in the past had never presented a problem)

Still getting audio dropouts and Sonar crashes....

I'm using some loops I recently purchased.....never used loops in the past (other than occasionally whatever came with Sonar)....currently using REX2 files.....has anyone had trouble with that format?

Or, has anyone noticed more crashes than normal in the current version that they can't quite explain?

Using Win7 64, 16GB RAM, Roland Octa-Capture....

Crashes for me using drum maps. Others experience overload of first core of CPU (happens to me after removing drum maps). I had to roll back to previous platinum version.

There have been some octacapture issues. Generally uninstall, reinstall latest driver and system program. You could try deleting AUD.INI (Google for details). Also update BIOS and chipset drivers for your motherboard and run windows update.. Try running Sonar as admin or the opposite if you are already doing it.

Also try Sonar in safe mode could be a problem plugin. Also paste error messages from windows event viewer.

Try turning off upsampling.

A few people seem to have had problems with the latest update - I have had my first show stopping issue since X2 with Jamaica Plain. That said,  having just upgraded from x3 you do have a lot of other variables, Why not roll back to Ipswich, which only takes and few minutes, and see if the problem persists. If it does, at least you can rule out the latest update being the problem and start isolating possiblle causes.

You've got a number of new elements in the mix (no pun intended) so it makes it difficult to pinpoint what might be causing the problem....

Try eliminating the new stuff systematically (one by one), and if that doesn't work, do a rollback to Ipswich.

revert back to Ipswich - too many problems with JP.

Yes, I removed the delays.....will try removing the loops after work....

Not sure if I can "roll back to Ipswich", as I never used it....Jamaica Plain was what I downloaded and installed in my upgrade from X3  (Unless they have it set up so you can roll back to a version you never used...since the updates are all inclusive)....will check later.

You might find it easier to stick with X3E until next release..

It's been 2 or 3 weeks I'm surprised a regression bug fix release was not announced. Guess it's taking a while to implement the fixes.

Before the JP release Sonar was rock solid for me. Now I'm seeing dropouts and crashes more frequently.
