Anyone else seen this? - Waves sent me an email for their new "Waves Central" - a one-step installation and license management interface.

I've just got my Waves plugins working on JP using the old system, and I daren't touch it until I have to (although I suppose installing this new interface wouldn't hurt). If anyone tries this, let us know

I ran the old Waves Licensing app this morning, and it required the upgrade before it would let me do anything.

The nice thing is that there is now only the single app (Waves Central).

The ugly/unfortunate/confounding thing is that when I uninstalled the old v9r30 installer, it uninstalled all of my plugins. I then had to reinstall via the new app.

Dumb. Really farking dumb.

I installed waves central without problems. If you already have waves plugins on a USB stick as I do; it will install your new version to that stick automatically. I didn't have to mess with the manage license's tab.                    Use the install tab (middle tab) to reinstall your existing plugins. The easy install tab is for installing new plugins. I then did a normal VST scan in Sonar without re-setting the scan in scan options & it found all my plugins.

I purchased a new VST today from waves and went to install. The new Waves Central app said installation successful, but when sonar does a scan it says select the Waves 9.3 directory. I tried and it does't like the directories I am choosing. I've email tech support but this is all so frustrating.

Meanwhile, every Wave plug in I own is unavailable to me now.

Rickidoo,
Same thing here this past week. My solution...
Move all my licenses to the cloud, uninstall ALL waves, reinstall with the new Waves Central, move licenses back to computer. Re-set and re-scan VSTs. Everything working fine again.

Same thing happened here.  I had to transfer all of my wave 's licenses to my USB stick, I use the off line method, using the new manage licenses method.  You can only do this once a year so if it happens again I might be screwed.

In other words adding one new license to my USB stick did not work and it messed up all the other licenses that I had.

Two days ago I installed Waves Central and took the "Easy Install and Activate" route. Waves Central claims to have successfully undertaken the process.  However, when I scan VSTs, the scan gets as far as Scanning $RU06D2N.vst3. A diaglogue box launches asking for the directory where Waves 9.3 plugins are installed. So I navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves, but this doesn't satisfy the process and asks again. Now when I try to load projects which include Waves plugins, the plugins are not present (obviously). I've filled in the Waves online fault report and support request, but no reply yet (after two days).

Update - I've just gone through the process again and the same happened (asks where the plugins are stored), but this time the plugins are present in the projects (I didn't do anything different in the process).  So - seems to be working now. But I find the whole process not very positive in terms of user interface, and the fact that VST scans always require navigating to the plugins folder. No other plugins do this.

Try moving any stored license from your computer or USB stick to the cloud.  Then retry the install.

Thanks Kevin, I did that before the reinstall. But it gets worse: Last night the reinstall worked ok,but tody if I load any project with Waves plugins, I get pop-ups:
(i) VST Plug-In error ... The following plugin failed to laod: (8000ffff) c:program files\common files\vst3
(ii) Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library ... Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar Platinum\SONARPLT.exe ... R6025 - pure virtual function call
(iii) Sonar stops working (unsurprisingly given (ii).

EDIT - FOLLOW UP - with support from Waves:
I had WaveShell-VST3 9.3_x64.vst3 still present in the system and this was clearly causing an issue, given the waveshell is now v9.6. I've deleted it and the plugins are present again now. Many thanks to Waves support for sorting this.
