OK if you could create a new thread in the bug reports forum so we can look at it that will be great. The more detail and specific steps you have for us (i.e. press this, click that) the easier and quicker it will be for us to reproduce. Cheers..

Will do. It may be a little bit of time before I can run it step by step as I'm upgrading my OS this weekend (Win 7 to 8.1) on my production system and will need to completely reinstall X3.

Brilliant thanks :)

Since I work a lot in radio, I would love to see SONAR include a data chunk when exporting wave files that can be read as cart info for radio automation systems such as Wide Orbit, Media Touch, Audio Vault etc. Adobe Audition has this option and it would make things easier for us here at my work.

Well this thread is getting popular.

Does everybody know there is a forum where you can create your own individual threads on ideas (one at a time would be best). Best thing of all people can vote!..

That sounds like an invitation for us to flood you with our demos if we can export a data chunk...
That's very kind of you

Full disclosure:  I haven't made the plunge to X3 yet.  Still on X2 Producer here.

I want the same features I've wanted since X1:

(01) Pagination of the Control Bar, so I don't need to buy a larger computer monitor and still have access to all the modules.  Whoever decided that "module hidden" was a satisfactory solution to the screen real-estate issue has apparently NEVER used a computer before.  I just want on-screen access to the basic tools again, like I had in 8.5.

(02) A new narrow strip layout in the Console View that gives us back all of our buttons that we'd have in wide strip view (e.g., polarity invert etc.).

(03) Driver aliasing that is actually "friendly" in that I can name discrete mono channels anything I want, and also can configure the layout of the drivers how I choose.  I realize this isn't a flashy feature, but it will save headaches and reduce routing errors.

(04) Updated implementation for the MCU, Mackie XT and Mackie C4.  Sonar is still the best I've come across for these devices, but they're getting increasingly out-of-date.  Particularly with the emphasis on ProChannel, which isn't properly implemented in this regard.  That basically makes ProChannel modules BROKEN PLUGINS from the perspective of somebody who relies on the MCU/XT/C4 (i.e., me).

(05) ALL ProChannel plugins bundled with Producer.  The whole point of buying Producer for me that so I don't have to worry about feature cross-compatibility when working with other Sonar users.  Making us buy ProChannel plugs a la carte effectively KILLS that advantage.  I'd even be willing to pay a little more for a "ProChannel Expansion" version of Producer.

Right now for me, Sonar upgrades will typically hinge on 1-2 good features more than anything.  With X1 it was screensets, and with X2 it was automation modes (smartsnap looked good, but in practice turned out to cause me more headaches than it cured).  I have waffled on X3 because it doesn't seem to have any features that strike me as "must-have", though I DO like to have the most recent version so I can stay supported.

If the bakers are reading this, take note:  I will buy the next TWO versions of Sonar Producer if in the next version you include #1-3.  But apparently the feature request submission isn't getting lit up with these, despite the fact that it's a little embarassing that Sonar still has these pretty basic flaws.

Isn't that called a project? Admittedy it takes two or three clicks not one to open up another project.

Nope. I don't want to open another project with different mix. This is within a single project where you can call up a particular mix versions instantly without opening another project. You know, sometimes, opening another project takes time specially if the project has a bunch of VIs with samples in it. You cannot afford a client to wait while the project is loading.

Imagine having 92 mix versions(correct me if i'm wrong :-)) of Billie Jean within a single project and calling each version in an instant without the hassle of loading another project. Bruce Sweden would be very happy. :-)

Hope you get the idea. After all, it's just an idea. :-)

I would love this feature.

Me too. Of all the wish list items here, this is probably the one I would use the most. You can do the same thing by saving lots of projects and calling them up, but the load time for a complex remix can be considerable. Being able to switch back and forth rapidly within a single project would be great.

This would also make it really easy to consolidate things like vocals up +1, vocals down -1 in a single project instead of having to duplicate tracks or save new projects. For remixes it would be killer, because you could easily try out different radical changes.

I'm sure there are complications in implementing it - how fast could you switch from one set of automation curves to another, and whether you could cut automation from one version and paste into another...but I think this has a lot of potential, at least for the kind of work I do.

I really like this idea, too.  For a long time I recorded on a Roland VS-880.  On it, you can save mixer settings as a "scene".  It doesn't save automation, but pretty much everything else.  You can save up to eight scenes, and switch back and forth easily.  It's a feature I used a lot.

Sometimes, after working on a mix for a long time, I would like to bring all the faders down and start from scratch, but I don't want to lose the mix I've been working on.  I realize that one can save the mixes as separate projects, but as others have said, loading can take a long time.  Also, if you decide you need to add another track, or edit an existing track, this would need to be copied to all the alternate projects.

While we're at it, could we please go back to being able to scroll the last track to the top of the track pane?  For the life of me, I can't understand how not being able to do that is an improvement.

This might already be suggested. Find button for searching for clips in the trackview. If you have a hundred clips in the trackview and you name your clips something it could be nice if you could find them quickly using the clip's name.
