Hey Everyone,

I'm pretty baffled by this.  I'm having a problem where the wave forms in my recorded audio tracks aren't present.  I can play the track back and hear the recorded audio just fine - yet there is no waveform.  Just a straight line and the word "busy" in the upper left hand corner of the clip.

I found this in the X3 Documentation.  I followed ALL OF IT to the letter but still no waveform.

Anyone else experience this recently or know of something else to try?
I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 - if this may be of any use.

Thanks

Wow...Sure is quiet.  No one has any ideas on this one?
I would truly appreciate any help you could offer.

Thanks

Looks like you deleted the files in the sonar picture cache folder.
Try temp disabling your virus scanner.
I assume you are running X3E?

I had this happen intermittently since upgrading to Jamaica Plain. The Cakewalk tech said it may be partly caused by the small amount of RAM I have available.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm actually running Sonar Platinum (Jamaican Plain) update and yes...this problem would make you think it's due to lack of RAM but my PC has 32 GB of RAM so I'm pretty sure it isn't from that.

To further muddy the waters - I didn't really use Sonar between the Ipswich update and the Jamaican Plain update as I was out of town for a few weeks.  Plus, I had also upgraded my PC to Windows 10 within a day or so of installing the Ipswich update.  No problems whatsoever prior to this.

So it may be that I need to start by rolling back my updates to see if either Ipswich or Jamaican Plain are the culprit.  If not, it may be a Windows 10 issue.

Anyone else have any suggestions I could try?

Hmm. I used to get that sometimes, but not since X3.

Are your asking about X3 or SLPAT - I skipped from 8.5 to SPLAT - so I can't speak to X#, but have you tried the redraw waveform option?

What driver mode are you running in? Also check if your playback and record timing masters are assigned in preferences | driver settings. Its also possible that your picture cache is full so you could try clearing that.

isn't it about time the picture cache was able to manage itself? i.e., when the size used is approaching the max size, automatically start deleting the pics (or a combined filesize group of pics)  starting with the oldest first?
