Might make a good feature request. Is FIFO based on creation date the correct way to purge? What about oldest last accessed date?

What driver mode are you running in? Also check if your playback and record timing masters are assigned in preferences | driver settings. Its also possible that your picture cache is full so you could try clearing that.

Hey Noel.  Thanks for chiming in.  I actually deleted everything from the picture cache folder.  I did everything that was in this documentation, but it didn't seem to make the slightest difference.

As for my driver mode....I don't mean to sound ignorant, but I'm not quite sure what you mean or how to go about checking it.  Could you please shed some light on that for me?

Thanks for the help.

Are your asking about X3 or SLPAT - I skipped from 8.5 to SPLAT - so I can't speak to X#, but have you tried the redraw waveform option?

Hey Don, I'm currently running Platinum, but have been using Sonar since version 6 and never had this happen before.  And yes....I tried the redraw option as well as clearing the picture cache, but neither helped.

could be, it makes more sense - mine was just the first example that came to mind, proper design will take longer than 30 seconds :)

M:
I also remember one experience where as I zoomed in and out, the waveform would redraw and then revert to blocks again.  Do you have a second monitor attached?  If so what happens if you place the project in the other monitor?  Sorry if you covered that already.

Hey Everyone,

I'm pretty baffled by this.  I'm having a problem where the wave forms in my recorded audio tracks aren't present.  I can play the track back and hear the recorded audio just fine - yet there is no waveform.  Just a straight line and the word "busy" in the upper left hand corner of the clip.

I found this in the X3 Documentation.  I followed ALL OF IT to the letter but still no waveform.

Anyone else experience this recently or know of something else to try?
I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 - if this may be of any use.

Thanks

Did you check, in track view the VIEW tab above the tracks)?  There's an option called "VIEW-DISPLAY-DISPLAY CLIP CONTENTS.  Make sure that is checked, otherwise the waveforms will not appear even though audio plays.

isn't it about time the picture cache was able to manage itself? i.e., when the size used is approaching the max size, automatically start deleting the pics (or a combined filesize group of pics)  starting with the oldest first?

Cache doesn't work like cookies (ie they just 'expire' after a time period), normally the number of times the file gets accessed as well as last accessed is part of the equation as well.

In my experience size of cache isn't necessarily the problem, it's generally (not always) the integrity.

I'd be fairly surprised if some cleanout isn't already happening?

I actually haven't checked that yet.  I am at work now, but will check it tonight when I'm home.  Thanks for letting me know about that.  I'll report back and let you know how I made out.

Thanks

Hey Jerry.  Well...so much for that.  It's already checked.  No luck.  This is sooooo frustrating.  I just can't figure out why it's doing this.  Thanks for the thought though.
