I had this happen on one tune I did a while back but it was way before Splat!!
Hasn't happened since, but I never resolved it either.
Baffling!

Try changing the screenset..
Did you disable your virus scanner?
Are you running X3E?

Thanks for the replies.  I'm actually running Sonar Platinum (Jamaican Plain) update and yes...

Hey Don, I'm currently running Platinum,

OP's Sig

CUSTOM AUDIO PC:

Intel Core i7 4770K CPU, ASUS Z87 PRO Motherboard, 32GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit Edition Running Sonar Platinum
Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 Interface, Focusrite ISA Two Premp and Blue Robbie - Mic Preamp

So as to the answer to your question, my guess would be NO ?

Thanks for pasting sig. The great thing about reading these forums on cellphone is you don't get to see sigs they are hidden. Maybe one day somebody would like to fix this but not holding my breath.

However I do note OP has already mentioned platinum. Other two questions stand.

I had the same problem once.  Go into your preference in Cakewalk and make sure under the driver settings that the playback timing master and recording timing master are set correctly.  Apparently this can change on a per-project basis, so it can be fine for one project, but messed up on another.

Good luck!!

Hey Dok.  Yes, sorry...I tried both of your suggestions, but still come up short.  Thanks for your help though.

I just checked them and they seem to be just fine.  Actually, the playback timing master only has ONE option in the drop down menu (monitors) so there really isn't much to question there.  The recording timing master simply has the available inputs of my Saffire Pro 40 interface listed so all appears to fine there as well.  Thanks for the help though.  I do appreciate it.

OK so I just tried rolling back a couple of updates to Hopkinton (where I KNOW I was still able to see a wave form on my recorded audio tracks) and it still doesn't show up even after doing so.

The only other thing I can think of (and I REALLY don't want to) would be to revert back to Windows 7 as it seems the problem began right after upgrading to Windows 10.  I am hesitant because there is still no guarantee that is the cause of this issue and doing so would be a pain in the rump.

Could anyone else.....or perhaps even one of the bakers.....think of an alternative to try before I get too crazy with downgrading software?  Thanks everyone.

move the picture cache to a different drive

Just something to consider...

Is the directory (and files) where your picture cache is located "compressed" using NTFS compression?  If so, you might want to try to set the directory (and files) where your picture cache is located so that it doesn't compress the files.

I suggest this because, in the past, template files would not show if they were "compressed".

Hey Scook, OK but does that screw anything up??

I ask that because the documentation says to delete the files within that folder but NOT to delete the folder itself.  So if I move that folder to a different location, how will Sonar know where to store those files?  I'm not really sure how that works.

Thanks
