Whoa! Looks like Sonar is (finally) catching up to other DAWs that have had aux tracks, and then leaping over them by a mile.

I'm guessing patch points don't work with "Freeze", so for CPU-heavy processing of patch point submixes, one would have to input from a patch point onto an audio track, record onto that audio track, and then freeze that audio track. This would be in addition to freezing any tracks feeding into the patch point, so as to not inadvertently change their content while it's not reflected in the sound of the recorded and frozen submix.

So an immediate FR (yes, even before trying it out) would be the ability to freeze all tracks (with all their synths and effects) upstream of a patchpoint. This would also answer the recurring FR for quick-freezing the entire project.

Sorry, too excited to wait for the actual download. :D

While freeze is not integrated with patch points today you can certainly bounce aux tracks. Will be adding more integration as time goes on. Patch points are a very deep feature and a lot easier and intuitive to set up and use than in other daws.

I guess CS API is not going to be updated (as happened with Simple Instrument tracks and folders)...

Christmas in October!

I prefer to think of Christmas as Patchpoints Release in December.

I'll be very interested to see where you take Universal Routing Technology in the future. Didn't think to ask this before, but was the drop-down VST menu in the effects header that allows plug-ins to accept MIDI input part of this?
