Very well put Gavin. It can indeed be overwhelming when you consider the incredible amount of ways you can approach any project. Sonar is a very comprehensive program in itself and when you start to factor in the plugins, updates, third party, etc,  there is alot to take in, especially if someone just getting started! Good advice Sir.

I have just installed the update and am looking forward to giving it a good test run this weekend. ( Note to self: MUST buy more coffee first!). My best regards to everyone.

Maybe i m more stupid today than other dayz but i don t really get what those aux and patch allows us to do that we were not able to via bounce to track options ?

Craig,  I just read your "Five Reasons Why Patch Points Rock". Great info. I love the fact that we can use the combination of the patch points and Aux channels to treat the signal and keep it within the track view in a folder. As you mentioned earlier, it was possible using different combinations of track/bus, but it is easier to have all the information within one view/grouping. Also, please excuse my lack of using the "Quotaion" feature to indicate the copying of a previous posters comment (yours in this case!). Being fairly new to posting in forums, that is part of My learning curve!

Great job Bakers! The upgrade I made to Platinum earlier this year has definatly helped me in my productivity.

Just a big "thanks" for the update. I'm already using the aux tracks here. I was tracking congas tonight, 4 mics total (2 421's as spot mics, 2 Gef m300's as room mics). Sent all four tracks to an aux track, set my individual mic levels and then hid the individual mic tracks. Now I just have one fader in my track pane for the congas, which then goes to my "Perc" bus and out to the SSL. I get to keep my busses for instrument groups and my tracks for tracks, and I can even bounce to the aux track if I want to save resources later. Clean, simple and fantastic.

Now, I could have done this with a bus for the conga mics, and that's how I've done it in Sonar in the past, but this way I get to keep all four mics represented as a single track in my track pane and reserve my busses for instrument groups and FX which makes bus mixing easier. Same result as before, just better workflow and project organization (at least for me).

Couldn't be happier.

Very nice update, I appreciate the snappy startup time. Haven't used patch points yet, I need to think about them for a bit before I start slapping them into a project. I do appreciate the plugin fixes. Just overall a nice release. Congratulations!

Five minutes in, and I'm already lovin' it!  The simple fact that I can record the USB-inputs from my Virus TI2 in real-time (i.e. no bouncing/freezing required and/or switching the part played-on-USB over to the analog outputs) is absolutely HUGE!  HUUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEEEE!!!  Access will need to revise their manual for the real-time synth recording.

So in other words, instruments that act like VST's (like the Virus and most likely the Aira series) benefit immensely from the Ipswich (and now Jamaica Plain) update!  Ja mon!!!!
