  • Sonar X3e crashing when opening Maschine 2 2.3.0 projects

Ever since I updated Maschine 2 to the latest OS 2.3.0, sonar crashes when I close a project running Maschine 2 and open another project running Maschine 2.

I have talked with cakewalk tech support and they had me send them the minidump files. They then recommended me to download all of the C++ redistribution files. This resulted in the same crashes. Next they had me do a clean instal of Sonar X3. Sadly this resulted in the same problem.

Tonight I talked with the NI tech support team and they asked that I reinstall Sonar X3 using administrative rights and then reinstall !aschine 2 2.3.0 using administrative rights. Again, this results in the sa,e problem. Interestingly, rolling back Maschine 2 to the prior OS does not result in crashes. I would leave it that way but I have tracks using 2.3.0 that will not load with the prior OS.

Have any of you experienced this problem? What was the solution? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for you time

Joe

yes. same problem & NI announced a 2.3.1 update yesterday & it mentioned nothing about the Sonar problem. this issue sucks.  i think all the Sonar people over at the Maschine forum are having this happen to them whether they use Sonar Platinum or X3e or whatever.

It appears very disappointing update for Maschine coming our way, way too little too late. Clearly they are choosing the easy bug fix option rather than the important. There is still a chance this issue might be resolved, it just might not be documented.

Well at least I am not alone with this issue.  Sadly, the tech support guys at both Cakewalk and NI said they had never heard of this issue.

Because this only happens with Maschine 2.3.0 and no earlier versions, I tend to think this is a Machine issue and not a Sonar issue.   Let's hope the new Maschine update resolves this issue.

Thanks

You sometimes wonder how they can even function...
It's been logged both with NI and Cakewalk I believe.. looks like a NI issue though.

I had the same issue with version 2.3, I rolled back to version 2.2.3 everything went back to working normally.

I resolved my issues with Maschine 2.3 by unplugging my Maschine hardware. Please try that.

Based on that, I troubleshot it down to a particular USB port. Changed USB ports it was plugged into, and voila, Maschine now works.

Sound subs, Maschine 2.3 is working for you now that you changed USB ports?

Thanks

Yes.
Maschine 2.3 is working for me under the latest Cakewalk Platinum and Windows 10.

Even though I never changed the ports that the hardware was plugged into, changing the ports later fixed it. I initially stumbled on this by unplugging the hardware and noting that Maschine worked fine-- where it was crashing after a couple loops before.

I have talked with Cakewalk and NI about this issue. NI says they are working with cakewalk on is issue. Since this only affects cakewalk users, I wonder if cakewalk will someone fix this (even ough it's an NI issue) in their next update release?
