I've opened an old project from a few years ago (pre X3) and when I try to pull down on a track to expand it enough to see the track layer button so I can click it (btw, HORRIBLE UI, that), for some reason ALL the tracks in the project expand the same amount. You know how when you adjust the vertical height on a track layer, that all the track layers in that track are adjusted to the same height? With this project, regular tracks behave that same way. No other project I've worked with has done this that I can recall. I haven't opened this one up in years though. It's extremely irritating. Is there some old setting I had back when I was working on this song that I need to turn off or something?

Sounds like you've got Auto Zoom enalbed, in the View menu (Track View)

Try SHIFT+T to toggle take lanes, no need to mess with the track height or take lane button.
