It may be mentioned in another thread on this forum. I don't have any IK synths so have not dealt with it myself. IK support should be able to identify the registry keys which need to be altered.

I'm starting to think that it's not worth the hassle to get Sonik Synth 2 working.. There were some really great sounds in it that I used on a number of recordings.. A lennon guitar (sounded like "a ticket to ride" guitar), and a beach boy vocal program that I used to beef up a lot of harmonies.. I will miss SS2 but I give up..

Running SONAR as administrator is not the worst thing ever.
 
It is unfortunate that IK choose not to update their software when the security model changed. I believe the change affecting this plug-in occurred during Vista. In addition to the registry issue there is the 32bit problem. The plug-in will never have a 64bit version or ever be updated again. It will always require additional software to work properly in a 64bit host. The best solution for 32bit plug-ins in a 64bit environment is retirement. If older projects containing 32bit plug-ins must be revisited, keep a 32bit host configured for the task.

I got ST3 SE bundled with Miroslav Philharmonic from Thomann.de. It's the best deal on IKM software so far.
As you probably already know, ST3 SE is capable of importing legacy instruments, so that might solve the incompatibility issue for you. Hope that helps.

I have Sampletank3 installed, and perhaps that is the way to proceed.. I'll look into importing these legacy sounds.. there are only a couple that are really important to me.   Thanks. Craig
