Hello all,

Curious issue I've never ever encountered before.  Updated to JP last week and finally got round to resetting and re-scanning VSTs as recommended (minor delay in needing to update to M-TronPro64bit first based on initial reset/scan).  Scan seemed to go fine this time.

I will test this with other 32 bit VSTs and BitBridge, but on using VB3 (Hammond) which plays/records correctly, but when removing (undo insert)  SONARPLT.exe goes not responding.  Even loading VB3, not doing anything, (arming, recording the track, etc), same occurrence  on 'undo insert' and I have to task close Sonar.

I did just test on Jupiter 8V2 which is 32 bit with no issues whatsoever.

Details of the not responding show the following which point to BitBridge:

Any ideas ? - this does seem to be pointed at VB3/ wrapped with BitBridge given at least 1 other 32 bit VST works properly. BitBridge is currently set at what I suspect is the default setting as I've never modified it : Server 1 (0.00MB Ram used)

Any thoughts/ ideas / suggestions greatly appreciated.

 Best Regards,

I happen to have the Arturia V3 Collection, and just wanted to mention that while the stand-alone versions of their programs are indeed 32-bit, the plugins themselves come in both 32-bit AND 64-bit, and in both VST 2 and VST 3 flavors.

So, the Jupiter 8 V2 PLUGIN for use in Sonar could and should be pointed in the VST search path of the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager to load up the 64-bit versions of either the VST 2 or VST 3 or both flavors of all of those.

I am sorry I don't know anything about the other BitBridge issues you are having.  I have completely migrated to 64-bit plugin use within Sonar, and it just works without ever crashing for me.  I hope you can maybe set it up to where projects that you require 32-bit plugins can be used in a 32-bit install of Sonar, and then use a 64-bit install of Sonar for all projects that can use only 64-bit plugins.

Another option might be to look at JBridge, as an alternative to BitBridge.  I think it was around $20 some time ago, and some folks found it worked better for some 32-bit plugins than BitBridge.

Best of luck to you with all of it, in any case,

Bob Bone
