Working just fine for me.  I like the new routing options that I had gotten used to in other DAWs.

Big thumbs up here. Been waiting for this routing for a long time in Sonar. It's a big boost for me and no problems to report.

There's a big bug with multi-outputs and CPU. Await the regression fix I suggest before updating, Bakers will need to fix this one quickly.

Very nice routing. You can now record a click track from  the internal metronome.  Feed one track back into another track. Many have requested these features over the years. Just playing with other routing options and all seem to be working good.

Thanks everyone.    Lots of good comments and the consensus is to update it.

Not to suggest you will have problems but if it does not work for you, rollback is easy and quick. I would recommend trying rollback at least once to become familiar with the function. Hopefully, you will never have cause to rollback other than to test the process.

Now my track philosophy is thus:

Instead of grouping tracks to a bus I put all of those tracks in a folder and add an aux track to it, routing all of the tracks to the aux. All of the tracks are together in the folder.

Sharke, do you route the aux tracks, in the folders, to the master bus? So in general, you don't have any buses other than the master?

Thanks

All the aux tracks are routed to the master bus as usual, however if I found the need to route them elsewhere (for instance if I wanted to group aux tracks together into a submix) then I would do that. I'm not saying that I have no need for buses other than the master any more - for example, lets say I need a universal "glue" reverb that I'm going to send a little of all tracks to, regardless of their grouping. Or I might have a couple of universal delays, or an instance of an aural exciter that I'm going to use to add sparkle to a few select (but otherwise unconnected) tracks. I would use a bus for those returns.

I guess the idea is that if you have a bunch of tracks that are logically grouped together and need to be processed as a group or which use an effects return exclusively, then use aux tracks and group them all (tracks & auxes) in a folder. If you have a need for universal effects returns or are busing aux tracks into a wider submix, then use buses.

I haven't tried the 64bit version yet but on my 32bit laptop it's a bit top heavy now because I get audio dropouts but my laptop has limited memory though so I really have no complaints! I don't understand the new routing features at all but it runs my projects! What ever problems it has users will be used as guinea pigs I'm sure! Lol!

It appears at first blush that people are just posting problems.   Are there people who think this is worth downloading and why?

A lot of OPs had the courtesy to mark threads regarding JP as "solved." You might want to check these out so you know what issues some people ran into, and the solutions.

I think it's wonderful. One of my favourite episodes of the season :)

I suppose this is an example of how we all tend to post more about problems than successes. And for myself, I'm just busy right now, so not posting a lot about anything.

But I've been using the new routing options all day every day since we've had them. And I've not had any actual problems or ran into any bugs, though over the last week, I've spent 90% of my time mixing audio, very little use of soft synths or MIDI. So if there are issues with any of that, I wouldn't know. But everything is working very solidly for my current projects.
