Hi all i have read a review of a new plugin where it is noted their tolerance study of the electronic components .
Since the grass of the neighbour is always greener , I remember that tolerance was already planned a long time ago in Sonar .
"There is no such thing as a "perfect board", if perfect for you means that all channels should be exactly the same.
No, manufacturers do not put in channel variations on purpose, in fact they put in a ton of work and electronics to try and match channels or units in the analog domain.
BUT... electronic parts in audio equipment have tolerances up to 20% per part. Where manufacturers feel it is important to minimalize these tolerances they use selected or matched parts which are very expensive, but have lower tolerances of maybe just 2% or even 1%."
