I have an MOTU Ultralite AVB sound card and sometimes the audio turns into a loud static. If I close and reopen Platinum then it goes away. I had a session where this static sound happened right as I was trying to record a vocal.
I closed Platinum and double clicked on the CWP file to reopen to the song. Once the song was open I hit R and Platinum froze. The singer was standing there, so I rebooted . Once I saw the desktop, I looked at the spinning wheel curser and waited for it to stop.
I then double clicked on the CWP song file that I wanted to open. As soon as the song was up I hit R and it froze again. This happened a few times until I instead opened Platinum by double clicking it's desktop icon. It automatically opens my blank custom template. From there I was able to reopen the song file and hit record without it freezing.
Has anyone else had this problem with Platinum freezing when directly opening a CWP file and hitting record right away? It seems to me that Platinum should not allow us to hit play or record too soon after opening a file and should display the spinning wheel curser until it’s safe to hit record. This would prevent a crash like this.
I have a new Win 8.1 Pro very fast computer. I’m using 32 bit Platinum with some memory hogs like Ivory and Superior Drummer and a fast SSD boot HD and and samples HD.
Any suggestions, insights, or words of wisdom?
